The Basics of Protocol Testing

The Basics of Protocol Testing

What is Protocol Testing?

Protocol testing is a collective word practiced by the information management or plans for the examination of various protocols in the areas of Wireless, Switching, and Routing, etc. Join the Protocol testing online course from your home itself with the help of well-experienced instructors. Here in this blog, we discussed the Basics of Protocol Testing.

Different Types of Protocols

There are two types of Protocols are Routed and Routing Protocols.

Routed Protocols

Routed protocols are applied to assign the user data from an identity system to a different network. It provides user transactions like E-mails, web exchanges. Routed protocols are IPX and AppleTalk.

Routing Protocols

Routing protocols are also called network protocols, it can manage programs for routers. Routing Protocols are only used between routers. For example EIGRP, IGRP, etc. A router is similar to a Train process applied for transport, and the routing is like signals on the Railway Track.

Based on the variety of information different rules are applied. Organizations like JUNIPER, CISCO, ALCATEL provide networking tools like modems, routers, wireless entrance features, etc. Protocol testing is zero but indicating whether OSPF or EIGRP some different protocol is operating as separate models.

Different types of network protocols

The OSI design has seven layers of system communication. Here 2nd and 3rd layers are important.

Layer 2: The 2nd layer is the Data link layer. Mac addresses, Ethernet are the best models of Datalink layers 2.

Layer 3: The 3rd layer is the Network layer that determines the best possible route in the method for information. An IP number is an instance of layer3.

How to do Protocol Testing?

  • Protocol analyzer assures individual decoding simultaneously with request and assembly analysis. While the simulator assumes different articles of the networking component.
  • We require a protocol analyzer and simulator for protocol testing.
  • Protocol testing is provided by DUT to different elements like switches and routers and configuring controls in it.
  • It reduces scalability, production, protocol algorithm, etc. The method by applying accessories like lxNetworks, Scapy.
